El vocabulario utilizado por los centennials es un misterio para cualquier otra generación a nivel global.

Al igual que sucede en nuestro propio país, los jóvenes angloaparlantes de esta generación de personas nacidas entre finales de los 90 y principios de los 2000 tienen su propia jerga, por eso hemos considerado indispensable crear un glosario para actualizar tu vocabulario y adaptarte a lo que te puedes encontrar especialmente si estás navegando por las redes sociales 👀📱

Glosario de las slang words más utilizadas por la Gen Z

Muchas de estas palabras te parecerán increíbles, otras muchas probablemente no las hayas escuchado, pero te prometemos que algunas incluso podrás escucharlas en las conversaciones del día a día de los más jóvenes de tu entorno, no en balde ésta es considerada la generación más globalizada de todos los tiempos 🌍💫.

Así que sin más dilación aquí te dejamos este glosario con palabras imprescindibles en tu camino hacia la centennialización:

• CAP: It is used when someone is lying for no reason.
• GOAT: it is an acronym for the “Greatest Of All Time”.
• Alphet: it refers to an alternative / uncommon / special outfil.
• Glow up: if someone says to you: “what a glow up”, you should be proud of yourself. Centennials use that when they appreciate an emotional, physical and mental transformation for the better. It is so common to see that kind of comments after a breakup or a hard process.
• Flex: this has another meanings, but as an slang word you would hear it refearing to the act of showing off as a power move or in a arrogant way.
• Cheugy: it means out of trend.
• Stan: it refers to someone that is extremely obssesed with a celebrity or something like that (it probably comes from the words stalker and fan).
• Cringe: the next time you wanna say to a centennial that they’re acting awkward or that something makes you feel extremely ashamed, remember: that is so cringy!
• Simp: that is to describe a person who does way too much for someone they like.
• Bet: it literally means yes or okey for them, so you must remember it.

• Big yikes: you could read or hear it when they want to describe something / some action that results very embarrassing.
• Dank: as an slang adjetive it describes something of good quality.
• Boujee: it is used to describe a humble person with a luxurious lifestyle.
• Bussin’: when someting is really good or impressive, probably they use this word.
• Lit: this is used when something results exciting or excellent for them.
• Salty: despite what you may be thinking centennials use this word to describe someone who is being overly defensive or angry.
• Curve: they use it to describe the strategy to avoid another person’s romantic advances to them in a non-confrontational way, without ignoring them.
• Delulu: it’s a shortened slang for the word delusional. Gen Z use it to describe someone or a momentary mood when you seem crazy but in a cute way.
• Dupe: it refers to an affordable versión of somethin “luxury”
• TBH: literally means “To Be Honest”
